1. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2”

This film defined a generation. Millions of people around the world fled to theatres to see the final chapter of the Harry Potter saga unfold on screen, and for good reason. All involved gave it their all for this film. From cast to crew, everyone was at the top of their game for this film. However, the reason that this film is #1 on, not only my list, but many others is the character, Severus Snape. 10 years ago we were introduced to Snape, a vile human being who we all thought was the bad guy. A decade later, we were proven wrong with the strongest acting of the decade. Alan Rickman gave us an ending that we will never forget. The emotional change of Snape was perfection on film. His death was so well done, and the memory sequence brought myself, and all of the Potter fans, to tears. “You have your mother’s eyes” still brings chills, and “always”, will stay in my mind for a lifetime as one of the strongest moments in film. If Alan Rickman does not, at the very least, get a nomination for Best Supporting Actor this year at the Oscar’s, I will lose faith in the award show. This concludes my top 10 list for 2011. Agree? Disagree? Let me know!
Here is my guess for top film of 2012:
“The Dark Knight Rises”
In Nolan we trust.
