8. “Super 8”

I was skeptical of this film at first. I didn’t expect much, even with Steven Spielberg’s name attached. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the credits rolled. The child actors were nothing more of amazing in this film. They all have a very long career ahead of them, that’s a guarantee. The big thing for this, from what I heard anyways, was “what will the monster look like!?”. Some people seemed to not be impressed, but I thought the visual effect of the monster, and the look of him, was more than awesome for the film. The only way it would have been better, is if the monster would have turned out to be E.T.
9. “Roller Town”

You probably haven’t seen this one yet, unless you attended this years Atlantic Film Festival. Helmed by Picnicface member, Andrew Bush, and starring the rest of the Picnicface clan, Roller Town delivers a non stop gut buster filled with the most outrageous comedy that we’ve come to love from Picnicface. You’ll see this film taking over theatres world wide very, very shortly.
I didn’t get a chance to see as many films as I’d liked to this year, but I did get my fair share in. Here is number 10:
10. “Contagion”
Just a well rounded film in general. The film was strong the whole way through, and presented so many different stories, yet it wasn’t once confusing. The best part about this one for me was Jude Law. He did an amazing job portraying Alan, the man starting a revolution, in the film. I would like to see a best supporting actor nod for some award shows this year for this.
